Be open to unexpected incident or news

Wise man says, if you cant change the wind, change your sail. Wise man also says, if you can’t fight them, join them. Wise man also says, live with the flow of the river of life because you may never know what it brings.

In life, we always expect things to be good, perfect, nice and etc. It it never wrong to expect good thing. However, real life does not work that way.

Sometimes we lose somebody when we are not ready. Sometimes the government makes decision which is against our expectation. Sometimes, we get bad news instead of good news. Sometimes we get bad product after paying for a heavy price. Sometimes the internet is not working when we need internet connection the most. Sometimes the power supply is out when we are watching our favourite movies. Sometimes the food that we want the most is finished the time we reach the counter.

That is life whether we like it or not. No matter how stubborn we are, that is the fact of life. Sometimes life is on your side and sometimes life is against you.

It takes time to adapt to this fact of life. Even adult has problems adapting to this fact. How do we deal with this?

There is only one way to deal with this. We can always change the way we respond to these unexpected circumstances because we have to accept the fact that we actually have NO POWER to control everything. We only have the power to control our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual responses.

If we pray to God to change this fact of life, I believe that God will slam the door of heaven. I know it is not easy. I have never said that would as easy as ABC. But we can always learn to manage our responses because or ability to manage these responses will help to protect us and prevent us from doing things which might worsen the current situation.

Based on my experiences, the most practical way to deal with this is through prayer because I always believe that there must be a superior energy that governs this whole universe.

What should we say in the prayer?

Perhaps, we should say “Oh God, I may look strong in the eyes of others but I am weak and helpless. Help me to face every challenge that I will face today positively. Please bless everything that I am going to do today.”
